Un eisteddfod (Welsh:; plural eisteddfodau) es un festival galés de literatura, música y actuación. La tradición de tal reunión de artistas galeses se remonta al menos al siglo XII, cuando un festival de poesía y música fue sostenido por Rhys ap Gruffydd de Deheubarth en su corte en Cardigan en 1176 pero, con el declive de la tradición bárdica, Cayó en suspenso. El formato actual debe mucho a un renacimiento del siglo XVIII que surge de una serie de eisteddfodau informal. El equivalente inglés más cercano a eisteddfod es "session"; La palabra está formada por dos morfemas galeses: eistedd, que significa "sentarse", y bod, que significa "ser".
