Swertia perennis
Swertia perennis es una especie de planta con flores en la familia de gencianas conocida por el nombre común de felwort. Es nativo a varias regiones del hemisferio norte, incluyendo mucho de Eurasia y del oeste de Norteamérica. Se trata de una planta de humedales, en particular los pantanos calcáreos. Es común abundar en muchas áreas, pero se sabe que se ve afectado negativamente por la fragmentación del hábitat y la destrucción de otros hábitats, y la actividad humana ha llevado a su extirpación de algunas áreas donde alguna vez fue común. Es una planta perenne que produce por lo general un tronco erguido que crece de 10 a 50 centímetros de alto. Las hojas basales son en forma de cuchara con puntas redondeadas, y las hojas más altas en la planta son ampliamente lanza o algo ovales, con puntas puntiagudas. La inflorescencia es una panícula abierta de flores encima del tallo. Cada flor tiene un cáliz de cuatro o cinco sépalos puntiagudos y una corola de cuatro o cinco lóbulos puntiagudos cada uno de hasta 1,3 centímetros de largo. La corola es azul opaco a violeta en color con veteado purpúreo más oscuro o punteado. Hay dos pozos nectarios redondeados en la base de cada lóbulo de la corola. Los estambres con largas anteras rodean un ovario central.
