Helecho
Un helecho es uno o más de un grupo de aproximadamente 12.000 especies de plantas pertenecientes al grupo botánico conocido como Pteridophyta. A diferencia de los musgos, son plantas vasculares. Tienen tallos y hojas, al igual que otras plantas vasculares. Los helechos se reproducen a través de esporas y no tienen semillas ni flores. El término pteridophyte tradicionalmente se refiere a helechos ya algunas otras plantas vasculares sin semillas, aunque algunos autores recientes han utilizado el término para referirse estrictamente a los monilófitos.
