Coordenadas: 52 ° 31'45 "N 0 ° 26'47" W / 52,5292 ° N 0,4463 ° W / 52,5292; -0.4463 Fotheringhay es una aldea y parroquia civil en Northamptonshire, Inglaterra, seis kilómetros al noreste de Oundle y alrededor de 16 kilómetros al oeste de Peterborough. Es más conocido por ser el sitio de Fotheringhay Castillo que fue arrasado en 1627. No queda nada del castillo para ser visto hoy en día, aparte de la motte en la que fue construido que ofrece excelentes vistas del río Nene. El sendero de larga distancia Nene Way atraviesa el pueblo. Como el hogar de la gran línea del Yorkist la aldea era, por una parte considerable del 15to y 16tos siglos, de la situación nacional. La muerte de Richard III en Bosworth Field alteró su historia irrevocablemente.
