Mirada
La mirada es un término psicoanalítico llevado al uso popular por Jacques Lacan para describir el estado de ansiedad que viene con la conciencia de que uno puede ser visto. El efecto psicológico, argumenta Lacan, es que el sujeto pierde un grado de autonomía al darse cuenta de que él o ella es un objeto visible. Este concepto está ligado con su teoría de la etapa del espejo, en la que un niño que encuentra un espejo se da cuenta de que tiene una apariencia externa. Lacan sugiere que este efecto de mirada también puede ser producido por cualquier objeto concebible como una silla o una pantalla de televisión. Esto no quiere decir que el objeto se comporte ópticamente como un espejo; Sino que significa que la conciencia de cualquier objeto puede inducir una conciencia de ser también un objeto.
