Thurible
Un thrurible es un incensario de metal suspendido de cadenas, en el que el incienso se quema durante los servicios de adoración. Se utiliza en el católico romano, el católico anglosajón, el ortodoxo del este, el ortodoxo oriental, el apostólico armenio, algo luterano, el viejo católico, y en varias iglesias gnósticas. También se utiliza en Co-Masonería y en la práctica de la magia ceremonial. En iglesias católicas, luteranas y anglicanas, el servidor del altar que lleva el thurible se llama el thurifer. El funcionamiento de un thurible es absolutamente simple. El carbón ardiente está dentro del incensario del metal. El incienso, a veces de muchas variedades diferentes, se coloca sobre el carbón. Esto puede hacerse varias veces durante el servicio como el incienso quema muy rápidamente. Una vez que el incienso se ha colocado en el carbón de leña, el hongo se cierra y se utiliza para el incensado. El famoso Botafumeiro en la Catedral de Santiago de Compostela, España La palabra "thurible" proviene de la vieja francesa thurible, que a su vez se deriva del término latino thuribulum. El thuribulum latino se forma más lejos de la raíz así, significando el incienso.
