Realis humor
Un estado de ánimo real es un estado de ánimo gramatical que se utiliza principalmente para indicar que algo es realmente el caso, es decir, para expresar lo que el hablante considera un estado de cosas conocido, como en las oraciones declarativas. La mayoría de las lenguas tienen un solo estado de ánimo realis llamado humor indicativo, aunque algunas lenguas tienen estados de ánimo adicionales, por ejemplo, para expresar diferentes niveles de certeza. Por el contrario, un humor irreal se utiliza para expresar algo que no se sabe que es el caso en la realidad. Un ejemplo del contraste entre realis e irrealis humores se ve en las frases inglesas "Él trabaja" y "Es necesario que él trabaje". En la primera oración las obras son una forma indicativa presente del verbo, y se utiliza para hacer una afirmación directa sobre el mundo real. En la segunda oración el trabajo está en el estado de subjuntivo, que es un estado de ánimo irreal, en el que el trabajo no expresa un hecho sobre el mundo real, sino que se refiere a lo que sería un estado de cosas deseable.
