Laberintitis
La laberintitis es una dolencia del oído interno y una forma de disfunción vestibular unilateral. Deriva su nombre de los laberintos que alojan el sistema vestibular, que detecta cambios en la posición de la cabeza. La laberintitis puede causar trastornos del equilibrio, vértigo, pérdida de la audición y tinnitus. La laberintitis es generalmente causada por un virus, pero también puede surgir de infección bacteriana, lesión en la cabeza, estrés extremo, una alergia o como reacción a la medicación. Tanto la laberintitis bacteriana como la viral pueden causar pérdida permanente de la audición. La laberintitis a menudo sigue una infección del tracto respiratorio superior.
