Galium verum
Galium verum es una planta herbácea perenne de la familia Rubiaceae. Está extendida en la mayor parte de Europa, Norte de África y Asia templada desde Palestina y Turquía hasta Japón y Kamchatka. Está naturalizado en Tasmania, Nueva Zelanda, Canadá y la mitad norte de los Estados Unidos. Se considera una mala hierba nociva en algunos lugares. Galium verumis es una planta de bajos niveles de verosimilitud, con un tronco de 60-120 centímetros de largo, con un enraizamiento frecuente donde tocan el suelo. Las hojas tienen 1-3 cm de largo y 2 milímetros de ancho, de color verde oscuro brillante, peludas debajo, llevadas en verticilos de 8-12. Las flores son 2-3 mm de diámetro, amarillo, y se producen en grupos densos. Esta especie se confunde a veces con Galium odoratum, una especie con usos culinarios tradicionales.
