El lenguaje es la capacidad humana para adquirir y utilizar sistemas complejos de comunicación, y un lenguaje es cualquier ejemplo específico de tal sistema. El estudio científico del lenguaje se llama lingüística. Las estimaciones del número de idiomas en el mundo varían entre 6.000 y 7.000.
