Principio de Le Chatelier
En química, el principio de Le Chatelier, también llamado principio de Chatelier o "La Ley de Equilibrio", puede ser usado para predecir el efecto de un cambio en las condiciones en un equilibrio químico. El principio se nombra después de Henry Louis Le Chatelier ya veces Karl Ferdinand Braun que lo descubrió independientemente. Se puede afirmar como: Si un sistema químico en equilibrio experimenta un cambio en la concentración, temperatura, volumen o presión, entonces el equilibrio cambia para contrarrestar el cambio impuesto y se establece un nuevo equilibrio. Este principio tiene una variedad de nombres, dependiendo de la disciplina que lo use. Es común considerar el principio de Le Chatelier como una observación más general, en términos generales: Cualquier cambio en el status quo provoca una reacción opuesta en el sistema que responde. En química, el principio se utiliza para manipular los resultados de las reacciones reversibles, a menudo para aumentar el rendimiento de las reacciones. En farmacología, la unión de ligandos al receptor puede desplazar el equilibrio según el principio de Le Chatelier, explicando así los diversos fenómenos de activación y desensibilización del receptor.
