El Levante, también conocido como el Mediterráneo Oriental, es una región geográfica y cultural que consiste en el "litoral oriental del Mediterráneo entre Anatolia y Egipto". El Levant hoy consiste en la isla de Chipre, Israel, Jordania, Líbano, Siria, Palestina y parte del sur de Turquía. Las definiciones precisas han variado con el tiempo, y el término originalmente tenía un uso más amplio y menos bien definido.
