La mácula o mácula lútea es una mancha amarilla altamente pigmentada, de forma ovalada, cerca del centro de la retina del ojo humano. Tiene un diámetro de alrededor de 6 mm ya menudo se define histológicamente como teniendo dos o más capas de células ganglionares. Cerca de su centro está la fóvea, un pozo pequeño que contiene la mayor concentración de células cono en el ojo y es responsable de la visión central, de alta resolución. La mácula también contiene la parafovea y perifovea.
