Maimónides
Mosheh ben Maimon, llamado Moses Maimonides y también conocido como Mūsā ibn Maymūn, o RaMBaM, fue un filósofo judío sefardí, un astrónomo y uno de los estudiosos y médicos más prolíficos e influyentes de la Torah de la Edad Media. Nació en Córdoba, Imperio almorávide en la Pascua de Eva, 1138, y murió en Egipto el 12 de diciembre de 1204. Según la mayoría, es enterrado en Tiberias. El Maimonides Heritage Centre fue establecido para conmemorar su legado. Fue rabino, médico y filósofo en Marruecos y Egipto. Aunque sus escritos sobre la ley y la ética judías fueron recibidos con aclamación y gratitud de la mayoría de los judíos, incluso tan lejanos como Irak y Yemen, y él se levantó para ser el venerado jefe de la comunidad judía en Egipto, también hubo críticos vociferantes de algunos de Sus escritos, particularmente en España.
