El pargo de carnero, Lutjanus analis, es una especie de pargo nativo de las aguas costeras atlánticas de las Américas desde Massachusetts hasta el sur de Brasil, incluyendo el Mar Caribe y el Golfo de México. Son particularmente comunes en el Caribe. Habitan en ambientes arrecifales, con adultos encontrados en áreas con roca o coral, mientras que los juveniles se encuentran en hábitats arenosos con abundante crecimiento de malezas.
