Nanga Parbat
Nanga Parbat es la novena montaña más alta del mundo. Es el ancla occidental de los Himalayas alrededor de los cuales el río de Indus bordea antes de que desembarca en las llanuras de Paquistán. Está situado en la región de Gilgit-Baltistan de Paquistán, y se conoce localmente como "Deo Mir". Nanga Parbat es uno de los ocho milers, con una elevación de cumbre de 8.126 metros. Un pico inmenso y dramático que se eleva muy por encima de su terreno circundante, Nanga Parbat es también una escalada notoriamente difícil. Numerosas muertes de montañismo a mediados y principios del siglo 20 le prestó el apodo de "montaña asesina". Junto con K2, nunca se ha subido en invierno.
