Pseudopodia
Los seudópodos o pseudópodos son proyecciones temporales de membranas celulares eucariotas o protistas unicelulares. Las células que poseen esta facultad se denominan generalmente ameboides. Los pseudópodos se extienden y contraen mediante el ensamblaje reversible de subunidades de actina en microfilamentos. Los filamentos cerca del extremo de la célula interactúan con la miosina que causa la contracción. El pseudopodium se extiende hasta que la actina se reorganiza en una red. Así es como se mueven las amebas, así como algunas células que se encuentran en los animales, como los glóbulos blancos. Se encuentran más comúnmente en las eubacterias. También pueden ser conocidos como "pies falsos".
