Jean-Philippe Rameau
Jean-Philippe Rameau fue uno de los más importantes compositores franceses y teóricos de la música barroca. Sustituyó a Jean-Baptiste Lully como el compositor dominante de la ópera francesa y también se considera el principal compositor francés para el clavicordio de su tiempo, junto a François Couperin. Poco se sabe sobre los primeros años de Rameau, y no fue hasta la década de 1720 que ganó fama como un teórico de la música con su Tratado sobre la Armonía.
