La capacidad calorífica, o capacidad térmica, es la cantidad física medible de energía térmica requerida para cambiar la temperatura de un objeto en una cantidad dada. La unidad SI de capacidad calorífica es joule por kelvin, y la forma dimensional es M1L2T-2Θ-1. La capacidad calorífica es una propiedad extensa de la materia, lo que significa que es proporcional al tamaño del sistema.
