Tamagotchi
El Tamagotchi es un animal doméstico digital handheld, creado en Japón por Akihiro Yokoi de WiZ y Aki Maita de Bandai. Fue vendido por primera vez por Bandai en 1996 en Japón. A partir de 2010, más de 76 millones de Tamagotchis se han vendido en todo el mundo. La mayoría de los Tamagotchis están alojados en un pequeño ordenador en forma de huevo con una interfaz que normalmente consiste en tres botones, aunque el número de botones puede variar. Según Bandai, el nombre es un portmanteau que combina la palabra japonesa "た ま ご", que significa "huevo", y la palabra inglesa "watch". En consecuencia, el nombre es romanizado como "Tamagotch" sin el "i" en Japón. Pero recientemente en Japón, el nombre romanizado ha cambiado al inglés "Tamagotchi" con el i.
