Teletexto
Teletexto es un servicio de recuperación de información de televisión creado en el Reino Unido a principios de los años 70 por el diseñador líder de Philips para VDUs, John Adams. El teletexto es un medio de enviar páginas de texto y formas geométricas simples de bloques de mosaico a una pantalla de televisión equipada con decodificador VBI mediante el uso de un número de líneas de intervalo de borrado vertical reservadas que forman la banda oscura dividiendo las imágenes horizontalmente en la pantalla de televisión. Ofrece una variedad de información basada en texto, que incluye típicamente noticias, horarios y programas de televisión. La información de subtítulos paginada también se transmite dentro de la señal de televisión. Las primeras transmisiones de prueba fueron hechas por la BBC en 1973, conocida como Ceefax.
