Theoconservatism
El theoconservatism es un portmanteau de la "teocracia" y del "conservatism" y se utiliza generalmente como etiqueta política que refiere a los miembros de la derecha cristiana, particularmente ésos cuya ideología es una síntesis de elementos del conservadurismo americano, del cristianismo conservador, y del conservatism social, expresados a través Medios políticos. Este término apareció por primera vez en 1996 en un artículo de The New Republic titulado "Neocon v. Theocon" de Jacob Heilbrunn, donde escribió que "los neoconservadores creen que Estados Unidos es especial porque se fundó en una idea -un compromiso con los derechos del hombre Encarnado en la Declaración de Independencia -no en las afiliaciones étnicas o religiosas- Los teocones también afirman que América está arraigada en una idea, pero creen que la idea es el cristianismo ".
