Termorregulación

La termorregulación es la capacidad de un organismo para mantener su temperatura corporal dentro de ciertos límites, incluso cuando la temperatura ambiente es muy diferente. El proceso interno de termorregulación es un aspecto de la homeostasis: un estado dinámico de estabilidad entre el medio ambiente interno de un animal y su entorno externo. Si el cuerpo es incapaz de mantener una temperatura normal y aumenta significativamente por encima de lo normal, se produce una condición conocida como hipertermia. Para los seres humanos, esto ocurre cuando el cuerpo está expuesto a temperaturas constantes de aproximadamente 55 ° C, y cualquier exposición prolongada a esta temperatura y hasta alrededor de 75 ° C de muerte es casi inevitable.
