Camino de remolque
Un camino de remolque es un camino o sendero en la orilla de un río, canal u otra vía fluvial. El propósito de un camino de sirga es permitir que un vehículo terrestre, bestias de carga, o un equipo de tiradores humanos para remolcar un barco, a menudo una barcaza. Este modo de transporte era común cuando la navegación era impráctica debido a túneles y puentes, vientos desfavorables, o la estrechez del canal. Después de la Revolución Industrial, el remolque se volvió obsoleto cuando los motores fueron instalados en barcos y cuando el transporte ferroviario reemplazó al lento método de remolque. Desde entonces, muchos de estos caminos de sirga han sido convertidos en senderos de uso múltiple. Aún se les denomina caminos de remolque - aunque ahora sólo se utilizan ocasionalmente con el propósito de remolcar barcos.
