Transpondedor
En telecomunicaciones, un transpondedor es uno de dos tipos de dispositivos. En la navegación aérea o la identificación por radiofrecuencia, un transpondedor de vuelo es un dispositivo que emite una señal de identificación en respuesta a una señal recibida de interrogación. En un satélite de comunicaciones, un transpondedor reúne señales sobre un rango de frecuencias de enlace ascendente y las retransmite en un conjunto diferente de frecuencias de enlace descendente a receptores en la Tierra, a menudo sin cambiar el contenido de la señal o señales recibidas. El término es un portmanteau para transmisor-respondedor. Es varias veces abreviado como XPDR, XPNDR, TPDR o TP.
