Xining
Xining es la capital de la provincia de Qinghai, en el oeste de China, y la ciudad más grande de la meseta tibetana. Tiene 2.208.708 habitantes en el censo 2010 que 1.198.304 viven en el área edificada hecha de 4 districtos urbanos. La ciudad era un centro comercial a lo largo del Corredor Hexi del Norte de la Ruta de la Seda por más de 2000 años, y fue un bastión de la resistencia Han, Sui, Tang y Song dynasties contra los ataques nómadas desde el oeste. Aunque era una parte larga de la provincia de Gansu, Xining fue agregado a Qinghai en 1928. Xining sostiene sitios de la significación religiosa a los musulmanes ya los budistas, incluyendo la mezquita de Dongguan y el monasterio de Ta'er.
