Lituania
Lituania es una república en el norte de Europa. El nombre oficial es Lituania y la ciudad capital es Vilnius. Las regiones oriental y meridional están bordeadas por Belarús, el oeste por el Mar Báltico, el suroeste por Rusia y Polonia y el norte por Letonia. Entre los Estados bálticos, la población y el territorio son los más numerosos y amplios. A finales del siglo XVIII Polonia se dividió en imperios rusos. Fue independiente durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, pero se vio obligado a unirse a la Unión Soviética en 1940. Desde 1941, bajo el dominio alemán, fue ocupado por la Unión Soviética en 1944 y fue miembro de la república soviética. Declaró la independencia después del fracaso del golpe de Estado soviético en agosto de 1991, fue aprobado para la independencia en septiembre y no participó en la Unión de Estados Independientes. Se encuentra en la parte más meridional de los Estados bálticos. La composición étnica es del 83% de los lituanos. Los alimentos, tabaco, maquinaria y equipo representan el 29,6%, el 18,3% y el 17% de la producción industrial total, respectivamente. Llevó a cabo la educación obligatoria de seis a once años e introdujo la educación religiosa en 1990.
