KIS - ametralladora desarrollada por Polikarpa Rybickiego ps. "Komar", Witold Szafranski, p. "Igo" y Stanisław Skorupka ps. "Smrek". El nombre de la pistola proviene de las primeras letras de los apodos del constructor. Producido en la conspiración en 1943-1944. Las piezas se fabricaron en Starachowice, y el acabado, montaje y ranurado de las barricas se llevó a cabo en un taller de campo en las montañas de Świętokrzyskie cerca de AK "Nurta". Originalmente el arma se llamaba Likwidator, el nombre de KIS se le dio en marzo de 1944. Más tarde, el nombre "Liquidator" fue una serie de 8 ametralladoras, modeladas según el KIS, realizadas entre abril y julio de 1944 por Zdzisław Dyda en el taller de armas AK en Opatów.

Nazwa pistoletu pochodzi od pierwszych liter pseudonimów konstruktorów. Produkowany w konspiracji w latach 1943-1944. Części produkowano w Starachowicach, a wykańczanie, montaż oraz bruzdowanie luf wykonywano w warsztacie polowym w rejonie Gór Świętokrzyskich przy oddziale AK "Nurta". Pierwotnie pistolet nazwany został Likwidatorem, nazwa KIS została nadana w marcu 1944 roku. Później nazwę "Likwidator" nosiła seria 8 pistoletów maszynowych, wzorowanych na KIS-ie, wykonanych od kwietnia do lipca 1944 roku przez Zdzisława Dydę w warsztacie rusznikarskim AK w Opatowie.
