Occidental

Occidental, más tarde llamado el interlingue, es un lenguaje artificial creado por el oficial naval báltico-alemán y profesor Edgar de Wahl y publicado en 1922. Occidental es un lenguaje del grupo de lenguajes de planificación naturalista, que está estructurado de tal manera que los términos derivados se asemejan a las formas que se encuentran en los idiomas de Europa Occidental en la mayor medida posible. Esto fue logrado por el así llamado. Reglas de Wahla, un pequeño conjunto de reglas para transformar verbos infinitivos en sustantivos y adjetivos. Después de completar el diccionario de gramática simplificado, el idioma fue relativamente fácil de entender sin el aprendizaje previo de los hablantes de Europa occidental. Occidental ganó cierta popularidad en Europa más de una docena de años antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Durante la guerra, el nombre del idioma se cambió a interlingue. Occidental, później nazwany interlingue, jest sztucznym językiem utworzonym przez bałtycko-niemieckiego oficera marynarki i nauczyciela Edgara de Wahla i opublikowanym w 1922 roku. Occidental jest językiem z grupy naturalistycznych języków planowych, który został skonstruowany w taki sposób, aby wyrazy pochodne w jak największej mierze przypominały formy występujące w językach zachodnioeuropejskich. Zostało to osiągnięte za pomocą tzw. reguły de Wahla, niewielkiego zbioru zasad dotyczących przekształcania bezokoliczników czasowników w pochodne od nich rzeczowniki i przymiotniki. Po uzupełnieniu słownika uproszczoną gramatyką powstał język stosunkowo łatwy do zrozumienia bez uprzedniej nauki przez osoby mówiące językami zachodnioeuropejskimi. Occidental zyskał pewną popularność w Europie w okresie kilkunastu lat przed II wojną światową. W czasie wojny nazwa języka została zmieniona na interlingue. Po wojnie occidental został stopniowo usunięty w cień przez konkurencyjny projekt naturalistycznego języka sztucznego interlingua, który został opublikowany w 1951 roku. Głównym organem jest pismo Cosmoglotta.
