Anschluß o Anschluss es una palabra del idioma alemán que significa conexión o anexión. Se utiliza en Historia para referirse a la anexión político-militar de Austria por parte de Alemania en 1938. Este término es el opuesto a la palabra Ausschluß, que caracteriza la exclusión de Austria en el Reino de Prusia. En el tratado de Saint-Germain-en-Laye de 1919, que puso fin al Imperio Austro-Húngaro, el artículo 88 estipulaba expresamente que la unión de Austria con Alemania quedaba prohibida. Como se sabe, Austria, en la tradición del Imperio Austro-Húngaro, era una nación multiétnica y multicultural. En Viena y en las principales ciudades austriacas vivían personas que hablaban lenguas diversas y practicaban las más diferentes religiones. El emperador de Austria había sido la figura política que había dado cohesión a la sociedad multicultural del Imperio Austro-Húngaro. Este papel centralizador no tenía entonces un corresponsal en la nueva sociedad austriaca. Muchas familias judías, por ejemplo, recordaban con nostalgia esos tiempos idos.

Este termo é o oposto à palavra Ausschluß, que caracteriza a exclusão de Áustria no Reino da Prússia. Em Viena e nas principais cidades austríacas viviam pessoas que falavam línguas diversas e praticavam as mais diferentes religiões. O imperador da Áustria tinha sido a figura política que tinha dado coesão à sociedade multicultural do Império Austro-Húngaro. Esse papel centralizador não tinha então um correspondente na nova sociedade austríaca. Muitas famílias judaicas, por exemplo, recordavam com saudade esses tempos idos.
