El compuesto químico de yeso es un mineral con sulfato de calcio. El compuesto con dos moléculas de agua cristalina se llama yeso. El mineral de sulfato de calcio con agua se cristaliza en columnas simples o gemelas. Los cristales de yeso se encuentran en arcilla y marga, o en montañas saladas y enlucidas. Se encuentra en Anatolia como una gran roca en la región de Kızılırmak, especialmente con sal de roca. Se obtienen dos tipos diferentes de yeso mediante el procesamiento del yeso en dos formas. En la primera forma, el yeso aplastado, triturado de los molinos, ladrillo, una cantidad de agua en el horno calentado a 120 grados retirados y se trituró de nuevo pasa a través del molino. Especialmente molde, modelo, adornos de techo utilizados en este tipo de yeso, si se mezcla con helada de agua a más tardar dentro de la media hora. El segundo paso es obtener yeso calentando la piedra de yeso a 450 grados después de triturar la piedra y eliminar completamente el agua. Cuando esta mezcla se mezcla con agua, se convierte en una masa donante y muy duradera después de unas semanas.

Anadolu'da kaya tuzu ile birlikte bilhassa yukarı Kızılırmak bölgesinde büyük kayalar halinde bulunur. Alçı taşı iki şekilde işlenerek birbirinden farklı iki cins alçı elde edilir. Birinci şekilde, alçı taşı kırılır, değirmenlerde ufalanır, tuğla, fırınlarında 120 dereceye kadar ısıtılarak içindeki suyun bir miktarı alınır ve tekrar değirmenden geçirilerek toz haline getirilir. Bilhassa kalıp, model, tavan süsleri yapılmasında kullanılan bu cins alçı, su ile karıştırılırsa en geç yarım saat içinde donar. İkinci şekil alçı elde etmek, alçı taşının değirmende ufalanmasından sonra 450 dereceye kadar ısıtılarak içindeki suyun tamamen alınması ile olur. Bu cins alçılar, su ile karıştırıldığında birkaç hafta sonra donar ve çok dayanıklı bir kütle haline gelir.
