Bolomètre
Un bolomètre (grec: βολόμετρον "bolometron", c'est-à-dire mesureur (-μετρον) de choses jetées (βολο-)) est un dispositif pour mesurer la puissance des rayonnements électromagnétiques incidents par le chauffage d'un matériau avec une résistance électrique dépendant de la température. Il a été inventé en 1878 par l'astronome américain Samuel Pierpont Langley. Le nom vient du mot grec bole (βολή), pour quelque chose jeté, comme avec un rayon de lumière.
