Caucase du Nord
Régions du Caucase du Nord dans la Fédération de Russie Le village de Tindi, au Daghestan, à la fin des années 1890. Le nord du Caucase est la partie nord de la région du Caucase entre la mer Noire et la mer Caspienne et la Russie européenne. Le terme est également utilisé comme synonyme de la région économique du nord du Caucase en Russie. Politiquement, le Caucase du Nord comprend les républiques russes du Caucase du Nord. Dans le cadre de la Fédération de Russie, la région du Caucase du Nord est incluse dans les districts fédéraux du Caucase du Nord et du Sud et se compose du Krai de Krasnodar, du Krai de Stavropol et des républiques constituantes, d'environ de l'ouest à l'est: République d'Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino -Balkaria, Ossetie du Nord-Alania, Ingouchie, Tchétchénie et République du Daghestan. Depuis octobre 2007, les séparatistes et les soldats du Front du Caucase dirigés par Dokka Umarov et Akhmed Yevloyev ont revendiqué toutes les régions du Caucase du Nord de Karachay-Cherkessia à la mer Caspienne en tant que partie de leur territoire envahie par la Russie au cours du 18ème siècle qui a expulsé la plupart des Caucasiens Vers la Turquie, l'Iran, la Bulgarie, la Syrie et la Jordanie.
