La diffusion de Compton
La diffusion de Compton est une diffusion inélastique d'un photon par une particule chargée libre, généralement un électron. Il en résulte une diminution de l'énergie du photon, appelé effet Compton. Une partie de l'énergie du photon est transférée à l'électron reculant. La diffusion de Compton inverse existe également, dans laquelle une particule chargée transfère une partie de son énergie vers un photon.
