Bennettitales est un ordre éteint de plants de semences qui est apparu dans la période triasique et s'est éteint dans la plupart des régions vers la fin du Crétacé, bien que certains Bennettitales semblent avoir survécu aux temps d'Oligocène en Tasmanie et l'Australie orientale. Certains ont été caractérisés par des troncs épais et des feuilles composées pinnately qui ont une ressemblance superficielle à celles des cycades, ce qui diffère principalement dans l'agencement stomatique. Le taxon comprend deux groupes, les Cycadeoidaceae, représentés par Cycadeoidea et Monanthesia, qui possédaient des troncs robustes et des strobiliques bisporangiate, et les Williamsoniaceae incluant Williamsonia, Williamsoniella, Wielandella et Ischnophyton qui avaient des troncs fins et ramifiés et soit à base de bisporangiate, soit monosporangiate strobili. Bennettitales a été placé parmi les anthophytes et pendant quelque temps ont été considérés comme des parents proches des plantes à fleurs en raison de leurs structures de reproduction semblables à des fleurs.
