Dans l'analyse dimensionnelle, une quantité ou une quantité sans dimension de la dimension un est une quantité sans dimension physique associée. C'est donc un nombre «pur» et, en tant que tel, a toujours une dimension de 1. Les quantités sans dimension sont largement utilisées en mathématiques, en physique, en ingénierie, en économie et dans la vie quotidienne. En revanche, les quantités non dimensionnelles sont mesurées en unités de longueur, de surface, de temps, etc. Les quantités sans dimension sont souvent définies comme des produits ou des ratios de quantités non dimensionnelles, mais dont les dimensions s'annulent lorsque leurs pouvoirs sont multipliés. C'est le cas, par exemple, avec la déformation technique, une mesure de déformation. Il est défini comme changement de longueur, divisé par la longueur initiale, mais comme ces deux dimensions ont toutes les dimensions L, le résultat est une quantité sans dimension.
