Apollonien et Dionysian
L'apollinien et le dionysien est un concept philosophique et littéraire, ou dichotomie, basé sur certaines caractéristiques de la mythologie grecque ancienne. De nombreuses personnalités philosophiques et littéraires occidentales ont invoqué cette dichotomie dans des œuvres critiques et créatives. Dans la mythologie grecque, Apollo et Dionysos sont tous deux les fils de Zeus. Apollon est le dieu du Soleil, des rêves et de la raison, tandis que Dionysos est le dieu du vin, de l'ecstasy et de l'ivresse. Les Grecs ne considéraient pas les deux dieux comme des opposés ou des rivaux, même si souvent les deux divinités étaient entrelacées par nature. L'Apollonian est basé sur l'individualité, et la forme humaine qui est utilisée pour représenter l'individu et rendre l'un distinct de tous les autres. Il célèbre la créativité humaine par la raison et la pensée logique. En revanche, le Dionysien est basé sur le chaos et fait appel aux émotions et aux instincts. Plutôt que d'être individuel, les barrières de l'individualité sont décomposées et les êtres se submergent dans un tout.
