Hypermétropie
L'hypermétropie, communément connue sous le nom d'hypermétropie, d'extinction ou d'hypermétropie, est un défaut de vision causé par une imperfection dans l'œil, ce qui pose de la difficulté à se concentrer sur des objets proches et, dans des cas extrêmes, une personne malade ne peut se concentrer sur des objets distance. À mesure que l'objet se déplace vers l'œil, l'œil doit augmenter son pouvoir optique pour garder l'image concentrée sur la rétine. Si la puissance de la cornée et de la lentille est insuffisante, comme dans l'hypermétropie, l'image apparaîtra floue. Les personnes atteintes d'hypermétropie peuvent éprouver une vision floue, une asthénopie, un dysfonctionnement accommodant, un dysfonctionnement binoculaire, une amblyopie et un strabisme, une autre condition qui provoque fréquemment une vision à vide floue. Presbyopes qui déclarent une bonne vision de loin font généralement l'objet d'une vision à vide floue en raison d'une amplitude de logement réduite provoquée par des changements de vieillissement naturel avec la lentille cristalline. On l'appelle aussi souvent comme hypermétropie, car il est plus difficile de se concentrer sur des objets proches que sur des objets distants dans des personnes autrement normalement visionnées.
