Géographie linguistique
La géographie linguistique est la branche de la géographie humaine qui étudie la répartition géographique du langage ou ses éléments constitutifs. Il existe deux domaines d'études principaux dans la géographie de la langue: la «géographie des langues», qui traite de la répartition à travers l'histoire et l'espace des langues, et la «géographie linguistique», qui traite des variations linguistiques régionales dans les langues. Divers autres termes et sous-disciplines ont été suggérés, y compris; Une division dans l'examen de la géographie linguistique séparant les études de changement dans le temps et l'espace; «Géolinguistique», une étude dans la géographie de la langue concernée par «l'analyse des modèles de distribution et des structures spatiales des langues en contact», mais aucune n'a gagné beaucoup de devises. De nombreuses études ont étudié l'effet du «contact linguistique», car les langues ou les dialectes des personnes ont interagi. Cette extension territoriale des groupes linguistiques a généralement entraîné la superposition de langues sur les zones vocales existantes, plutôt que le remplacement d'une langue par une autre.
