Haakon IV de Norvège
Haakon Haakonsson, parfois appelé Haakon l'Ancien, contrairement à son fils avec le même nom, et connu dans les listes modernes de Regnal comme Haakon IV, était le roi de Norvège de 1217 à 1263. Son règne a duré 46 ans, plus longtemps que tout roi norvégien avant lui. Haakon est né dans l'ère de la guerre civile troublée en Norvège, mais son règne a réussi à mettre un terme aux conflits internes. Au début de son règne, lors de sa minorité, son dernier rival, Earl Skule Bårdsson, a servi de régent. En tant que roi de la faction de Birkebeiner, Haakon a vaincu le soulèvement du dernier prétendant royal Bagler, Sigurd Ribbung, en 1227. Il a mis un terme définitif à l'ère de la guerre civile lorsqu'il a tué Skule Bårdsson en 1240, un an après qu'il s'est fait lui-même Proclamé roi en opposition à Haakon.
