Histocompatibilité
L'histocompatibilité est la propriété d'avoir les mêmes alleles d'un ensemble de gènes appelé le principal complexe d'histocompatibilité. Ces gènes sont exprimés dans la plupart des tissus comme antigènes, auxquels le système immunitaire produit des anticorps. Le système immunitaire crée d'abord des anticorps contre toutes sortes d'antigènes, y compris ceux auxquels il n'a jamais été exposé, mais cesse de les transformer en antigènes présents dans le corps. Si le corps est exposé à des antigènes étrangers, comme en obtenant un greffon de tissu, il attaque le matériel étranger, à moins qu'il ne soit compatible.
