Détection Homodyne
La détection homodyne est une méthode de détection de rayonnement modulé en fréquence par mélange non linéaire avec rayonnement d'une fréquence de référence, le même principe que pour la détection hétérodyne. En interférométrie optique, homodyne signifie que le rayonnement de référence est dérivé de la même source que le signal avant le processus de modulation. Par exemple, dans une mesure de diffusion laser, le faisceau laser est divisé en deux parties. L'un est l'oscillateur local et l'autre est envoyé au système à sondage. La lumière diffusée est ensuite mélangée avec l'oscillateur local sur le détecteur. Cet arrangement présente l'avantage d'être insensible aux fluctuations de la fréquence du laser. Habituellement, le faisceau dispersé sera faible, auquel cas la composante régulière de la sortie du détecteur est une bonne mesure de l'intensité de l'oscillateur local instantané et peut donc être utilisée pour compenser toute fluctuation de l'intensité du laser. Les techniques homodyne et hétérodyne sont couramment utilisées dans les techniques de thermoréduction.
