L'homographie
Dans la géométrie projective, une homographie est un isomorphisme des espaces projectifs, induite par un isomorphisme des espaces vectoriels à partir duquel ils sont dérivés. C'est une bijection qui mène des lignes aux lignes, et donc une collineation. En général, il existe des colloignages qui ne sont pas des homographies, mais le théorème fondamental de la géométrie projective affirme que ce n'est pas le cas dans le cas d'espaces de dimension projectifs réels d'au moins deux. Les synonymes comprennent la projection, la transformation projective et la collineation projective. Historiquement, des homographies ont été introduites pour étudier la perspective et les projections dans la géométrie euclidienne, et le terme «homographie», qui, étymologiquement, signifie à peu près «dessin similaire» à partir de cette époque. À la fin du 19ème siècle, des définitions formelles des espaces projectifs ont été introduites, ce qui diffère de l'extension des espaces euclidiens ou affins en ajoutant des points à l'infini. Le terme «transformation projective» provient de ces constructions abstraites. Ces constructions se divisent en deux classes qui se sont avérées équivalentes.
