International Atomic Time est une norme de temps de coordonnées atomiques de haute précision basée sur le passage théorique du temps approprié sur le géoïde de la Terre. C'est la base du temps universel coordonné, qui est utilisé pour le chronométrage civil dans toute la surface terrestre et pour le temps terrestre, qui est utilisé pour les calculs astronomiques.
