Micro-encapsulation
La micro-encapsulation est un processus dans lequel de minuscules particules ou des gouttelettes sont entourées d'un revêtement pour donner de petites capsules de nombreuses propriétés utiles. En général, il sert à incorporer des ingrédients alimentaires, des enzymes, des cellules ou d'autres matériaux sur une échelle micro métrique. La microencapsulation peut également être utilisée pour enfermer des solides, des liquides ou des gaz dans une paroi micrométrique en film dur ou doux, afin de réduire la fréquence de dosage et d'éviter la dégradation des produits pharmaceutiques. Dans une forme relativement simple, une microcapsule est une petite sphère avec un mur uniforme qui l'entoure. Le matériau à l'intérieur de la microcapsule est appelé noyau, phase interne ou remplissage, alors que le mur est parfois appelé coquille, revêtement ou membrane. Certains matériaux comme les lipides et les polymères, comme l'alginate, peuvent être utilisés en mélange pour piéger le matériau d'intérêt à l'intérieur. La plupart des microcapsules ont des pores de diamètres compris entre quelques micromètres et quelques millimètres. Les matériaux de revêtement généralement utilisés pour le revêtement sont: - 1.
