Verset sans sens
Le verset sans absences est une forme de vers lumineux, souvent rythmique, souvent pour les enfants, représentant des personnages particuliers dans des situations amusantes et fantastiques. Il est capricieux et humoristique et a tendance à employer des phrases fantaisistes et des mots maquillés sans signification. Le verset absurde est étroitement lié à Amphigouri (grec amphi- (qv) + gyros "cercle", donc "cercle des deux côtés", ou de Gk. -agoria "speech"), qui est une écriture sans signification ou absurde, en particulier L'un destiné à être une parodie. Les limericks sont probablement la forme la plus connue de versets absurdes, bien qu'ils aient tendance aujourd'hui à être utilisés pour des effets de bavardage ou de drole, plutôt que de non-sens. Parmi les écrivains en anglais notés pour les revers absurde, on trouve Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, Ogden Nash, Mervyn Peake, Edward Gorey, Colin West, Roald Dahl, Dr Seuss, Brian P.
