Numidia
Numidia était un royaume berbère-libyen dans ce qui est maintenant l'Algérie et une partie plus petite de l'ouest de la Tunisie, en Afrique du Nord. La numidia était à l'origine divisée entre Massylii à l'est et Masaesyli à l'ouest. Pendant la Seconde Guerre Punique, Massinissa, roi des Massylii, a vaincu Syphax des Masaesyli pour unifier Numidia dans un seul royaume. Le royaume a commencé comme un État souverain et a ensuite alterné entre être une province romaine et être un État client romain. Il était bordé par les royaumes de Mauretania à l'ouest, la province romaine d'Afrique à l'est, la Méditerranée au nord et le désert du Sahara au sud. Il est considéré comme le premier grand état de l'histoire de l'Algérie et du monde berbère.
