Ossétie
L'Ossétie est une région ethnolinguistique située sur les deux côtés des montagnes du Grand Caucase, largement habité par les Ossètes. La langue ossetienne fait partie de la branche iranienne orientale de la famille des langues indo-européennes. La zone d'expression d'Ossétie au sud de la crête principale du Caucase est reconnue par la plupart des pays comme à l'intérieur des frontières de la Géorgie, mais sous le contrôle du gouvernement de fait soutenu par la Russie de la République de l'Ossétie du Sud. La partie nord de la région se compose de la république de l'Ossetie du Nord-Alania au sein de la Fédération de Russie.
