Droit d'asile
Le droit d'asile est un concept juridique ancien, selon lequel une personne persécutée par son pays peut être protégée par une autre autorité souveraine, un pays étranger ou des sanctuaires d'église. Ce droit a ses racines dans une tradition occidentale de longue date - bien qu'il soit déjà reconnu par les Égyptiens, les Grecs et les Hébreux; Descartes est allé aux Pays-Bas, à Voltaire en Angleterre, Hobbes en France et chaque État a offert une protection aux étrangers persécutés. Les Egyptiens, les Grecs et les Hébreux ont reconnu un «droit d'asile» religieux, protégeant en quelque sorte les criminels contre les poursuites judiciaires. Ce principe a ensuite été adopté par l'église chrétienne établie, et diverses règles ont été développées pour se qualifier pour la protection et la protection qu'il était. Selon le conseil d'Orléans en 511, en présence de Clovis I, l'asile a été accordée à quiconque s'est réfugié dans une église, dans ses dépendances ou dans la maison d'un évêque. Cette protection a été accordée aux meurtriers, aux voleurs ou aux personnes accusées d'adultère. Il concernait également les esclaves fugitifs, qui seraient cependant remis à leurs propriétaires lorsque leurs propriétaires ont juré sur la Bible de ne pas être méchants.
