Le Parakeet Rose-ringed, également connu sous le nom de Parakeet à col en anneau, est une espèce de perruche afro-asiatique grégaire qui a une très grande portée. Étant donné que la tendance de la population semble augmenter, les espèces ont été évaluées comme étant les moins préoccupées par l'UICN en 2012. Les Parakeets À Soie Rose sont populaires comme animaux de compagnie. Le nom scientifique commémore le naturaliste autrichien Wilhelm Heinrich Kramer. Cette espèce non migrante est l'une des rares espèces de perroquets qui se sont réussi à habiter dans des «habitats perturbés» et a résisté aux attentats de l'urbanisation et de la déforestation. À l'état sauvage, il s'agit d'une espèce bruyante avec un appel de grognement indéniable. Le mâle adulte arbore un anneau de col rouge et la poule et les oiseaux immatures des deux sexes ne montrent ni anneaux de cou, ni affichent des anneaux de cou gris gris pâle à gris foncé.
